Electric vehicles are recognized for their mind-numbing acceleration and quick torque delivery, but they are also redefining luxury and providing interior comforts that would not be conceivable with internal combustion vehicles.
The lack of an engine enables electric vehicle designers to maximize interior space and provide a more luxury interior, and you can go to crazy vegas from your smartphone to indulge in games in the luxurious EVs. Premium EVs also have the advantage of being powered by silent electric motors rather than loud internal combustion engines, which heightens the sense of luxury.
1. Porsche Taycan
Luxury isn’t the first thing that comes to mind when you think of the Porsche Taycan, but this performance EV is also incredibly plush inside and comes with a wide range of factory customization options.
You may have your Porsche Taycan’s interior trim painted the same color as the outside, as well as amazing metal colors (such as Neodyme, a mild copper-like tint).
You may also customize your Taycan with a variety of leather colors and two-tone combinations, as well as a leather-free inside option.
The Taycan looks sophisticated and elegant outside, so it would not look out of place at the racetrack or the valet parking of an upscale hotel. The design is modest, yet unquestionably Porsche.
2. Lotus Eletre
The Lotus Eletre is a far cry from what Lotus is renowned for (lightweight, fun-to-drive cars), yet the British sports car manufacturer has nonetheless managed to develop a great (and luxury) EV, click here to find out more. The bodywork is incredibly futuristic, and if you look closely enough, you can notice glimpses of the Lamborghini Urus in the front.
One of the most fundamental qualities of luxury is effortless power, and the Eletre offers plenty of it. It generates 905 horsepower thanks to its dual-motor system, and the 0-60 mph pace of about three seconds is impressive for a big SUV.
The Eletre’s interior is filled with refined features, such as magnificent Nappa leather bucket seats that massage and keep you warm, and gold accents around the inside complete the stylish design.
3. Mercedes-Benz EQS
The Mercedes-Benz EQS is an excellent luxury vehicle, which should come as no surprise given that it is a Mercedes-Benz product. The German manufacturer is well-known for producing the king of executive sedans (the S-Class), and it’s obvious that the automaker used the same concepts when creating the EQS, which is based on the EVA dedicated electric vehicle platform.
Mercedes’ brand of luxury isn’t flashy, and the EQS’ external design is exquisite but understated. The interior is a completely different story; the level of luxury and attention to detail is simply astounding, as is the scope for customization.
The EQS’s ambient lighting is second to none, and the massive 56-inch Hyperscreen (made up of three distinct displays under one large pane of glass) will make you feel like you’re driving a spaceship. Even the turbine-like HVAC vents are stunning, as are the quilted leather seats.
4. Rolls-Royce Spectre
The Rolls-Royce Spectre represents the height of electric vehicle luxury. The exterior is regal and sumptuous, yet extremely sophisticated—the qualities of a classic Rolls-Royce.
The traditional Spirit of Ecstasy sculpture remains, making a forceful statement while gracing the enormous hood, although the grille is significantly smaller (and lighted for a more modern effect). The rear has the unique Rolls-Royce boat tail design made famous by many classic Rolls-Royce vehicles over the course of the company’s more than a century-long existence.
Because this is a Rolls-Royce coupe, the stunning rearward-opening doors are also included; it doesn’t get any better than this for making an entrance.
The interior is typical Rolls-Royce, with only the best materials, and the LED stars on the roof and door panels create an otherworldly experience inside.
Unlike a Tesla, the Spectre does not have hidden HVAC vents. Rolls-Royce’s HVAC vents are polished metal pieces of art; there’s no reason to hide them when they look so wonderful. The entire interior is adorned with the most gorgeous wood, and the only disappointment is how many cows were slaughtered to make the leather. Synthetic leather is available, although we do not expect it to be popular among Spectre clients.
5. BMW i7
The very upscale BMW i7 features one of the greatest electric vehicle interiors ever. This is not an exaggeration; BMW distinguishes itself from the electric luxury sedan crowd by using new materials (such as glass controls) in its most opulent interiors, and the vehicle’s technology is unparalleled.
The BMW i7 provides a cinematic experience for its backseat passengers, complete with a 31-inch 8K display that folds down from the top in dramatic way, which, when combined with the rear sunshades closing, creates a true theater atmosphere.
The panoramic glass top also has built-in LED light accents and ambient lighting throughout the cabin, which serves to create a lounge-like atmosphere, particularly at night.
The i7 also includes doors that open with the touch of a button, without the driver having to lift a finger, which is another sign of real luxury. It also has a range of up to 321 miles, so you won’t have to worry about recharging as often when you’re on the road.
